WE LIVE IN A WORLD, WHICH PRIZES OUR LOOKS ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE.image00017
The media. Our peers, Our community, Our culture and our society places parameters of beauty on each and every one of us. These parameters are ingrained with the notion that if we look a certain way, it would lead to success and happiness. However in our pursuit of this, we create “monsters” of self-doubt and insecurities within us that slowly whisper imperfections; causing a yearn for the “Perfect Body”, that is never satisfied!
And then we get caught within this liminal space that it seems to have no happy ending.
How do we then resist the pressure to pursue this imperfect and impossible perfection?
To answer this, Maya Dance Theatre partners with our friends from IPtanz (Germany) to present this Asia-Euro inter-disciplinary dance theatre collaboration.
